Hampton Associates was formed in spring 2004.

Founded by a small group of consultants from creative, HR and IT backgrounds, with a common cause.

All were disillusioned with the pay per occurance/per hour mentality of their industries, and the hollow ring of the frequently bandered jargon of 'partnerships' and 'working together' when put into context with £600 to £1000 a day billing rates.

It was resolved that a company would be formed whereby those businesses who wished to work as a team, could do so. Where knowledge, and creative ideas could be shared and disseminated without a veil of secrecy or obfuscation. Where rather than a 'client list' we could create an 'Association', becoming the common link in a network of businesses, sharing our experiences and knowledge where needed without being constrained by budget or sales targets. To be able to truly work in partnership with our Associates.

Thus Hampton Associates was born with three 'keynote' principles.

Never to charge by the hour, never to charge per case. Hampton Associates exists purely on the principle of retainership, and holds to the foundation of mutual trust and responsibility that term represents.
Never to hide or veil knowledge from our associates. Giving others the means to do more is our goal - not to create artifical dependancy.
To be independant. If others are to rely on our advice, we cannot afford to be biased. We will not sell you a 'windows PC because that's all we have' because we will never sell anything other than knowledge, and if our advice is to buy a windows PC we can then direct you to several suppliers which you can choose from. The day we stock and sell hardware or software, become a PC vendor (HP, Dell), or Apple dealership, we by default become biased to the products that we sell. It will never happen.
